Since our first reefer container was manufactured in 1964, we have developed a number of technological advances. Our Controlled Atmosphere and Super/Blast Freezer containers are examples of value-adding innovations resulting from our industry insight and experience.

Maersk Line has established a dedicated reefer organization with our own reefer engineers on board our vessels, at terminals and offices ensuring that our customers’ chilled or frozen cargo arrive at the destination in optimal condition. Our reefer logistics package includes:

• Carrier management services that allow you to work with a single point of contact to coordinate booking, equipment, and scheduling
• In house forwarding/customs brokerage covering all documentation needs at origin and destination
• Trucking services available at both origin and destination, facilitating door-to-door delivery while under the care of Maersk Line
• Integrated information overview of the supply chain from field to shelf via Spective system, which supports critical management decisions
• Purchase order management and pre-advice ensures that perishable products are put on the water when desired
• Established customer specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure your cargo is handled the right way every time through our global network of offices located in over 125 countries
• Cold storage and inland distribution solutions at major reefer destination points
• Extension of Maersk Line’s reefer handling expertise beyond traditional port-to-port service
• In addition to a number of Research and Development projects, Maersk Technical Sales team provides technical guidance and commodity handling expertise, and ensures that the skills of our dedicated reefer staff remain unmatched through training and education.
