Growing with the times Three strong partners = one great team: SalemFruchtWhat do you get when you put together three of the best organised and well-established companies in their own right? The answer is a strong team. And this is exactly what fruit wholesaler Wielatt in Beuren, produce wholesaler Eugen Hund in Hagnau and Georg Veeser GmbH in Meckenbeuren came up with in 2001. They formed the SalemFrucht GmbH sales cooperative at the start of the millennium and, with the construction of a joint logistics centre in Salem, created the basis for distributing apples produced by over 250 fruit-growers in the Lake Constance area in the markets of Germany and neighbouring European countries. Between forming SalemFrucht and 2011 alone, the cooperative had supplied retailers with more than 400,000 tonnes of Lake Constance apples. That’s an unbelievable 2.8 billion apples: 2.8 billion ambassadors of tasty goodness from Lake Constance, one of Germany’s prettiest regions. The three independent businesses that make up SalemFrucht are able to draw on a wealth of experience covering over 200 years of fruit-growing.
